Lina Gong

Hi! I am an associate professor at the school of Computer Science and Technology, Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Nanjing, China. I received my Ph.D. degree (thesis:Study on Cross-Project Defect Prediction Based on Transfer Learning) in Computer software and theory from China University of Mining and Technology in December 2020. From September 2019 to September 2020, I studied as a visitor in the Software Analysis and Intelligence Lab (SAIL), School of Computing, Queen’s University, Canada under the supervision of prof. Dr. Ahmed Hassan.

My research is focused on helping developers gain insights from messy data recorded in software repositories and developing ML-enabled software development techniques (e.g., ML for software Defects, ML for Identifier Normalization, ML for issue classification) to improve the efficiency and productivity of developers (e.g., find defects more precisely and faster, make better data-informed decisions). The foundation for my research has been published at IEEE Transaction on Software Engineering (TSE), ACM Transactions on Software Engineering and Methodology (TOSEM), International Conference on Automated Software Engineering (ASE), IEEE Transaction on Reliability and Journal of Software: Evolution and Process.
